Each state has it's own policies and each state is different. Every children between the ages of 6 and 16 has to get an education, that is a common requirement to every states. So if they're not attending public schools, you'll have to show that they're learning at home. (Especially if you want your child to advance to college!)
If you think you're the best qualified to be teaching your child, you can do it!
But there are some things you need to take care of.
_ First there are many factors to consider before you even think of getting started home schooling your child: Personnal commitment, household organization, financial security, consentement of both parents and the child, etc.
_ Make sure you have the current information for home schooling in your state.
_ Have your proposal to home school your child approve by school district.
_ Find out what the courts WILL expect from you as a teacher.
_ Know how many days must be spent home schooling each week, month, or year. Etc.
